Day 1 – JFK/Cairo - In flight

Day 2 – Cairo
This afternoon, arrive at the Cairo International Airport. You will be met on arrival and, upon clearing immigration and customs, your All Africa Expeditions representative will transfer you to the Shepheard Hotel. Spend the afternoon resting, and meet for a welcome dinner in the Asia House, a fine dinning restaurant serving authentic Asian cuisine, most famous for its Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Thai Specialties for lunch and dinner.

Day 3 – Cairo
During breakfast, you will meet your Egyptologist for a briefing of what lies ahead before a half-day visit to the Egyptian Museum. Have lunch en route to visit the Citadel and Mohammed Ali of Persia Mosque, and later enjoy shopping at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Dinner tonight is on your own to afford opportunities to sample local fare. Your guide or hotel concierge will offer several suggestions to choose from.

Return to the Shepheard Hotel to overnight. (B)

Day 4 – Cairo
After breakfast, drive to Giza to view the Pyramids and Sphinx. Stop for lunch at the Mena House before transferring back to Cairo. This afternoon, visit Sakkara, location of the Step Pyramid of Djoser, and Memphis (time permitting). Dinner is on your own again this evening. The Egyptian Nights restaurant located in the Cairo Marriot Hotel would be an excellent place to sample Egyptian fare.

Day 5 – Cairo / Abu Simbel / Aswan / MS Ti-Yi
This morning, fly from Cairo to Abu Simbel. Here you will visit the temples of Ramses II and his queen, Nefertari, before flying to Aswan. Check in to the MS Ti-Yi in time for lunch. This afternoon sail along the Nile in a felucca. The route goes around Elephantine Island (original location of the city of Aswan), past the Mausoleum of the Agha Khan and Kitchner's Island, home to beautiful botanical gardens that can be viewed in passing. We overnight on board the Ti in Aswan.

Day 6 – MS Ti-Yi

After breakfast stop at the High Dam for about 30 minutes before continuing on to Philae and the Temple of Isis. Spend the morning here leisurely combing this magnificent ruin, and return to the ship for lunch. This afternoon, sail to Kom Ombo, disembark the ship and visit the renowned and unusual dual temple of the crocodile god, Sobek, and the falcon god, Horus. Dine on board and cruise toward Edfu overnight.

Day 7 – MS Ti-Yi / Luxor

Have breakfast and depart for the Temple of Horus at Edfu. This once magnificent structure was never completed and, today, is mostly in ruins. Return to the ship for lunch. This afternoon we cruise toward Luxor. Depending on how quickly we get through Esna Lock, there may be time this afternoon for sightseeing in Luxor, a busy little town along the banks of the Nile.

Day 8 – Luxor

Check out and disembark the MS Ti-Yi after breakfast. Your luggage will be transferred to the Winter Palace, where you will overnight. Drive by motor coach to the West Bank to take in the Valley of the Kings, the site of Queen Hatsepshut's mortuary temple, the Workers' Village (where the artisans of the tombs of the pharaohs lived), and the Colossi of Memnon. You may opt to visit the Valley of the Queens in lieu of the Workers' Village. After lunch with the group in Luxor, visit Karnak and Luxor Temples, which once were connected by the alley of Sphinxes, most of which remains buried beneath the modern city of Luxor. Return to the Winter Palace. Dinner tonight is on your own.

Day 9 – Luxor / Cairo

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel prior to check out. Visit the Luxor Museum before  transferring to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Arrive in time for your farewell dinner at La Pacha 1901. After dinner, transfer to the Movenpick Hotel for check in. Overnight.

Day 10 – Cairo/JFK

This morning a breakfast box will be provided upon checking out of your hotel. Then, you will be transferred to the Cairo International Airport for your flight to JFK. (B)
