Arrive Accra, Ghana Upon your Arrival at Kotoka International Airport, All Africa Expeditions Representative welcomes you and transfer you to La Palme Royal Beach Hotel.

Day 3 - Friday
Accra

Your guide will meet you this morning for breakfast; brief orientation foreign exchange. Then it’s off to your city tour: visit D.W.E.B Du Bois Center: A source of innovation to many, this center houses a research library and gallery manuscripts as well as grave of the African-American scholar and his wife.

Situated near the Castle wall is the former gravesite of a famous African American scholar, Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois. Dr. Du Bois was an intellectual and a great Pan-Africanist, who spend his last years in Ghana working together with Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana. Originally, his body was interred near the castle; later his remains and the ashes of his wife, Shirley, were transferred to a final resting place dedicated in their honor, known as the Du Bois Memorial Center for Pan African Culture.

The Center has become a great tourist attraction and a source of inspiration to many. Dr. Du Bois lived in the house now dedicated to him until his death. It is significant that he died on the eve of the Martin Luther King's historic march in Washington D.C., in the USA.

The Center houses a research library and a gallery of manuscripts and works of outstanding Pan-Africanists. There are facilities for lectures, workshops and video shows.

Later this afternoon, visit The National Museum: Houses a collection of Ghana’s historical treasures. Then visit Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum the final resting place of the first president of Ghana and a famous Pan-Africanist. And Center for National Culture the best place to find traditional handicraft from all over Ghana. Overnight at La Palme Royal Beach Hotel. (B)

Day 4 - Saturday
Kumasi

This morning you will transfer from Accra to Kumasi, the capital of The Great Ashanti Kingdom. Tour the Ashanti Region which involves visiting Kumasi the ancient capital of the region founded in 1965 by the Asantehene,(Asante King) Osei Tutu where museums forts and churches reveal the distinct cultural and historical back drops for the festival that are still important today. Day 5 - Sunday
Kumasi/Tamale

Embark on a full day expedition today, depart on an early morning drive from Kumasi for a visit to the Monkey Sanctuary at Fiema, Colobus monkeys with black silky fur, cute white noses and long curly tails are everywhere, as well as the light brown, mischievous Mona monkeys. They are an enchanting sight.

Held sacred by the local people of Boabeng and Fiema, it is a taboo to kill a monkey. The Government has also taken steps to protect their habitat and to guard against poachers. (The Mona is a worldwide endangered species).

Arrive in the villages early to see the monkeys arriving for breakfast. This event happens every day. For many generations the villagers have encouraged this harmonious blend between man and nature by giving the monkeys access to all parts of the village. They have even planted fruit-bearing trees the monkeys enjoy. When a monkey dies, it is buried in a coffin and special funeral rites are performed.

Then continue to Kintampo waterfalls, where you will find the beautiful waterfalls where the water flows from the falls and then disappears underground and resurfaces 200 meters away. After a brief stop here, continue on your journey to Tamale for a good nights rest. Overnight at The Gariba Lodge (B,L,D)

Days 6 & 7 - Monday & Tuesday
Mole National Park

TWO FULL DAYS – Mole National Park: Morning jungles walk with armed park warden. Located just one hundred seventy kilometers west of Tamale in the West Gonja District, is the Mole National Park.

The largest of Ghana’s National Parks and situated in the heart of the Guinea savannah woodland ecosystem, it is home to 93 mammalian species, 33 reptiles nine amphibians and an estimated 300 birds species. The mammals include elephants, roam antelopes, hartebeests, waterbucks, buffalo and warthogs. Uncounted lions, leopards, hyenas and various primates can also be seen in Mole. Day 8 - Wednesday
Mole National Park/Kumasi

Depart Mole National Park after a morning game drive then head to Larabanga Mosque - a 15 century said to be the oldest in West Africa and the Mystery stone. Transfer to Kumasi in time for dinner Overnight at Miklin Hotel Kumasi (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Thursday
Kumasi/Accra

This morning visit Ntonso noted for unique hand-printed ADINKRA clothes and Ahwiaa noted for its specially made handicrafts. Asoufua-Asamang, Pankrono and Krofrom will also be visited. After your tour continue to Accra the nation’s capital. Later this evening you will be transferred to your hostess home for dinner and cultural night in a Ghanaian home. Overnight at La Palme Royal Beach Hotel. (B,D)

Day 10 - Friday
Accra/ Enroute

Transfer to Kotoka International Airport in time to board your flight home
